About the Author
Lauren Cooksey Butler
Mrs. Butler is a first-grade teacher who is passionate about finding laughter in every situation and making connections with everyone she meets. She lives in south Georgia with her husband, four-year-old daughter, and six-month-old son. Lauren has always enjoyed making up fun raps, chants, and cheers for her students and school. After the first week of school in 2024, she was inspired to write her first children’s book. In addition to mentioning that she felt as if she were losing her mind to her students, Lauren’s daughter, Maxwell, became upset and frustrated on a car ride home, saying, “Mom, I just lost my mind!” when she forgot what she was saying mid-sentence. That is when Lauren decided it was time to write a book that allowed students and adults to relate, laugh, and learn from those times when we all lose our minds, even for just a while.
